“Our agriculture between price pressure and new approaches”

“Together for more biodiversity”
Film «Das Schweigen der Vögel» Yannik Tenet und Francoise Weilhammer, CH, 49 Min, 2019
They were the messengers of early summer par excellence: the skylark, the cuckoo and the nightingale. But their song has largely disappeared from the meadows and fields. 45% of the farmland birds in Switzerland are threatened. How did it come to this? Does the production of food and the achievement of environmental goals have to be in conflict?
As part of the PrixClimat, we present the “Mosaic Agriculture” project and discuss possible solutions for preserving biodiversity.
Panel with:
Matthias Hollenstein, farmer SlowGrow - PrixClimat: Mosaic agriculture
Sunita Wälti, brand ambassador CrowdContainer
Olivia Senn, Agricultural Policy WWF
Markus Arn, Project Manager Pro Natura
Presented by: Edwin Moser

« Our world in the future - nutrition » - D/CH/A, 28 min, 2019 and "Lust auf Vegi: Swiss start-ups take off" - CH, 12 min, 2020
The environment and climate are suffering from frequent meat consumption, monocultures and enormous water consumption. The UN predicts that we will need to increase current food production by 70% by 2050 to feed the world.
Do we all have to become vegetarians or put insects on our menu? Will meat soon only come from labs? What role does agriculture play?
As part of the PrixClimat, we are also presenting the permaculture project “ Agroforestry ” with Valentin Gionchetta, Ferme des Savenes.
Panel with:
Simone Fuhrmann, Deputy Managing Director Swissveg
Michel Roux, Co-President of the Zurich Nutrition Forum

Fri 4 March 2022 - 19.00h: Film & Discussion
«Vegan farms - contradiction or model for the future?»
Documentary: « Life Farms - Visions for a peaceful world » - D/CH, 40 min, 2021
Oat milk instead of cow's milk and harvesting instead of fattening: many farmers today feel trapped in a system that forces them to treat animals badly and that goes against their values. Most of the time they only see two ways: carry on or give up completely.
Can you stay a farmer but do things differently? The film visits animal sanctuaries in Germany and Switzerland and explores the question of what motivates farmers to give up livestock farming? What challenges does this bring and how can an economic future be secured?
Panel with:
Sarah Heiligtag, ethicist and farmer
Sabrina Gilles, co-producer of the film and animal sanctuary expert
Selina Blaser, farmer at Lebenshof KuhErde, from meat production to legume production
Moderation: Robert Rauschmeier
Presenting Partner: Hof-Narr

«Our soil - the key to the climate solution?»
Dokumentarfilm: «Unser Boden, unser Erbe» - D, 79 Min, 2020
The basis for our food is healthy soil. Because everything starts with the soil. If the soil ecosystem is in balance, plants and thus all biodiversity thrive.
The film vividly shows why this precious resource deserves our greatest appreciation. Because we can all contribute to maintaining soil fertility - whether as a farmer, gardener or consumer in the supermarket!
As part of the PrixClimat we present the projects “Mobgrazing” and “Regenerative Agriculture”.
Panel with:

«Zucker - Die süsse Droge»
«Sugar - The sweet drug» - CH, 50 min, 2021
Four out of ten Swiss people are overweight. Excessive sugar consumption is one of the reasons for this. Sugar is in everything. Even where we don't think it's possible. A family of five from Aargau lived sugar-free for a month.
With surprising findings. "Sugar is addictive because sugar activates the same receptors in the brain as other drugs," says Basel doctor Bettina Wölnerhanssen. That's why it's so difficult to take personal responsibility and reduce your own sugar consumption.
Panel with:
Dominique Rémy, nutritionist SVDE and co-president of the Nutrition and Health Alliance
Felix Schläpfer, Vice President Vision Agriculture
Raphael Wild, Head of Communications at Schweizer Zucker AG
Moderation: Laszlo Schneider, Insta
