Most of the world's rivers are particularly badly affected by the destruction of nature in the name of so-called progress. The waste of water is leading humanity into a self-made crisis.

Polish director Ewa Ewart accompanies people in Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, Albania, Poland and Switzerland who are committed to their environment. He documents their worries, but also their successes in the fight for clean water and natural rivers.
