A scientist loses his job because he refuses to fly back to Germany from an assignment.

On the outward journey, Gianluca Grimalda had already traveled largely by train, bus, ship and truck to Papua New Guinea to research the effects of climate change. On the way home, he wants to take two months of unpaid leave and avoid flying altogether. But the management doesn't like that at all.
