The Giants

Laurence Billiet and Rachael Antony

2023 | AUS | 90 Min

English

Environmental activist and folk hero Bob Brown has been fighting for Tasmania's last wild rivers and rainforests for half a century.

The result is a poetic portrait of the activist, which also shows how environmental politics moved from the margins to the center of power. The story of Bob's activism is interwoven with the extraordinary life cycle of Australia's giant trees.

A look at some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world sparks an urgent discussion about the rights of the forest. Breathtaking film footage and captivating animations ensure an intense film experience.
