It is everywhere and we all use it - gig work. But what about the workers behind the gig economy? What advantages does it offer and where do we need to intervene?
Shannon Walsh explores these questions in her nuanced and reflective film "The Gig is Up". She accompanies gig workers in China, America and France and speaks to experts and entrepreneurs. It becomes clear that there is much more to gig work than just delivery and transport services such as Uber and Co. A large part of this work is invisible. Also known as ghost work, it forms the interface between artificial intelligence and consumers.
