In the Land of Wolves

A hundred years after their extinction, wolves have returned to Germany. But in the meantime, Germany has become a highly technological and densely built-up industrial country.
The film tells of the life of the new neighbors, of the niches they have found in the cultural landscape. With beautiful and sometimes spectacular shots, it shows the wolves living in abandoned open-cast mining areas, crossing highways and roaming through villages, eating our waste and sometimes even livestock.
Despite his sympathy for the new biodiversity, the director does not try to brush aside its downside. He also observes the milieus of supporters and opponents and counters the deep-seated fears with an unbiased, fact-based film.
